Eddy Lin is the founder of Air Transportation Technology. While riding his mountain bicycle in September 2017, he dreamed of a flying machine in due to the heavy traffic in Los Angeles. As he started his research into the technologies and market for small aerial vehicles in October 2018, he discovered the GoFly Prize which helped him catapult his idea onto the drawing board and making prototypes.

He decided to create a one (1) passenger all electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft where the pilot sits in an open cockpit on a seat similar to sitting on a riding lawnmower and with controls comparable to motorcycle handle bars.

In December 2018, he was designing and building the lift fan for the aircraft using 3D printing (additive manufacturing) A 1/4 sub-scale prototype was also being built in 2018. In 2019, a full size prototype began using 3D printing. Testing of lift fans and the sub-scale model seems to have taken place, based on their Facebook posts.

Their timetable for pre-ordering vehicles is scheduled to begin by 2020, while the aircraft is being certified. In 2021, they plan to start selling production aircraft to the public. Air Transportation Technology entered the GoFly Prize competition Phase I in April 2018 and in early 2019, they entered the Phase II events.
