Electric Visionary Aircrafts (EVA)
Cugnaux, Toulouse, France
Electric Visionary Aircrafts (EVA) was founded on May 9, 2017, with their office moving to the Francazal Airport on November 1, 2018 in Cugnaux, Toulouse, France. Their offices are located at the airport’s former control tower and they have the use of a hangar for their prototypes.
In 2018, it was announced they were developing the X01, an autonomous two (2) passenger electric Vertical Take-off And Landing (eVTOL) aircraft using multiple electric fans and wings. In November 2018, Electric Visionary Aircrafts announced another new concept eVTOL model called the Valkyr. No test-beds, sub-scale prototype or full-scale prototype for either models have been announced by the company.
Electric Visionary Aircrafts’ Mission: We dream of a future in which anyone can fly anytime, everywhere with no traffic stress and pollution. To open a third dimension in our cities EVA develops a disruptive and cutting-edge compact electric VTOL technology. Our technology shall improve people’s life with less stress, less pollution and even advanced rescue capability. From Electric Visionary Aircrafts website.
The Valkyr is a concept for an autonomous futuristic looking eVTOL aircraft with 24 ducted fans, with folding wings, the aircraft is 2 m X 1 m (6 ft, 7 in X 3 ft, 3 in), fly at 200 kmh (124 mph), have a one (1) hour maximum flight time, will embed best-in-class artificial intelligence (AI) and navigation sensors for air taxi and delivery service, and will be capable of operations through a smart phone.
The Valkyr will be made to carry as many or few battery packs depending upon the length of the expected flight. There is no mention as to how many people the Valkyr can carry or the maximum weight for passengers. EVA has stated the Valkyr’s payload is 10 kilos (22 pounds). The company also states that an air taxi solution is 10 times faster than a car during peak traffic times and is 10 times cheaper to operate than a helicopter.
