AirCar (concept design)

AirCar (concept design)
AirCar Corp.
Sarıyer, Istanbul

Established in 2017, AirCar Corporation's vision is to build an autonomous electric vertical take off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft using artificial intelligence (AI) to not only fly the aircraft safely in the air and around other airborne vehicles but also to take commands from its passengers as well. The AirCar envisions using the latest technology available today, for the most advance travel for Urban Air Mobility (UAM).

When we look to tomorrow at AirCar Corp. we think of flying cars, excitedly. AirCar will set the stage for tomorrow's urban transportation. An all-electric, autonomous and intelligent flying car that defines our vision of tomorrow. With its technology, AirCar provides answers to questions about flying cars of the future. With AirCar, say hello to the future! —AirCar

The AirCar concept design is a two passenger aircraft autonomous eVTOL aircraft with a top speed of 120 km/h (65 mph), a range of 72 km (42 mi) and a maximum load of 500 kg (1,102 lbs). The front of the aircraft has a futuristic car design with eight electric propellers (in wire frames for safety), eight electric motors and has four fixed landing legs. The interior seats are wider than first class flight seats for maximum comfort, has a carbon fiber fuselage, will take up two parking spots to land and will have a whole aircraft ballistic parachute. The batteries can charge to 80% in 15 minutes and the battery packs are easily changed-out to help people fly longer distances in an urban area,

  • Aircraft type: eVTOL passenger aircraft
  • Piloting: Autonomous
  • Capacity: 2 passengers and luggage
  • Maximum speed: 120 km/h (65 mph)
  • Range: 72 km (42 mi)
  • Maximum payload: 500 kg (1,102 lb)
  • Propellers: 8 propellers
  • Electric Motors: 8 electric motors
  • Power source: Batteries, can be charged by 80% in 15 minutes
  • Fuselage: Carbon fiber composite
  • Windows: Windows for forward, side and top views
  • Landing gear: Four fixed landing legs
  • Safety Features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP), provides safety through redundancy for its passengers and/or cargo. DEP means having multiple propellers and motors on the aircraft so if one or more motors or propellers fail, the other working motors and propellers can safely land the aircraft. The aircraft has a whole aircraft ballistic parachute for use in emergency situations.
