Davinci ZeroG

Davinci Technology was founded in Jan 2017 by Đinh Quốc Trí in Hanoi, through and the team started to build the first manned drone prototype in 2015. The R&D team has four electronics and aerodynamic engineers, three flight controller firmware and application software engineers, and two concept and mechanical designers.

The ZeroG has three ducted fan guards above each side of the short fuselage. 12 motors powering 12 vertical propellers (6 tractor and six pusher) are a hybrid system with a full battery system under development. The vehicle can fly with two motors disabled but should a single failure occur it goes into an auto-land program. The overall diameter of the ZeroG prototype is 1.6 m (5.25 ft), including 12 motors with a 32 inch (81 cm) diameter, 10-degree pitch propellers.

The prototype design made its first manned untethered free flight test on Nov. 4, 2017 after about 10 manned tests were conducted in attitude hold mode. This free flight came after six months of unmanned tethered flight testing, with some 50 flights made at a height of about 2 m (6 ft).

The company is now in the process of developing the commercial version, which is being designed to have enough power for a pilot weighing up to 150 kg (330 lb).

The DaVinci is a contestant in Boeing's GoFly competition.

DaVinci has recently set up a Chicago office. The first ZeroG production aircraft is expected in 2020 with a product rollout in 2023.
