Lilium Expands to London

Based outside of Munich, Germany, Lilium announced on June 11 that it had selected London to be “the base for a world-class software team it plans to develop.” Hundreds of high-end software engineering roles will be created in the city over the next five years as the business seeks to make affordable, electric, on-demand air taxis a reality by 2025. Jobs will also be added in their existing hubs in Munich and Zurich. Additionally, Lilium appointed Anja Maassen van den Brink as Chief People Officer (CPO), Luca Benassi as Chief Development Engineer, and Carlos Morgado as VP of Digital Technology. Lilium also received the prestigious “Red Dot: Best of the Best” Design Award in July for its five-seat Lilium Jet concept, which made its first flight on May 4. Designer Mathis Cosson (now 25) said his flying taxi design was inspired by the graceful shape of the manta ray.
