Founded in 2024 by CEO Shivanshu Tank, the company is in the business of designing and manufacturing passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for emergency medical services in the advanced air mobility (AAM) industry. The company also makes fixed-wing uncrewed air vehicles (UAVs). The company wants to revolutionize aerial emergency medical service for both urban and rural areas by making rescuing people safer and more economical than using helicopters.
DX-1 AyuRather emergency medical passenger eVTOL aircraft (concept design)
The DX-1 AyuRather is an emergency medical passenger eVTOL concept design aircraft. The aircraft carries one pilot, two paramedics, one patient, medical equipment and supplies. The multicopter has been designed to rescue people in automobile accidents or save people with other life-threatening emergencies in both urban and rural areas.
The aircraft has an expected cruise speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) and has an anticipated maximum range of 150 km (93 m). The aircraft has 12 tilt-propellers, 12 electric motors and is powered by battery packs. The aircraft has a calculated maximum payload weight of 350 kg (772 lb). The aircraft has one high main wing, one conventional tail and has fixed skid landing gear. The fuselage is made from carbon fiber composite to give the aircraft a high strength to low weight ratio.
Specifications:
- Aircraft type:
- Piloting: 1 pilot
- Capacity: 1 patient, 2 paramedics and medical equipment and supplies
- Cruise speed: 250 km/h (155 mph)
- Maximum range: 150 km (93 m)
- Maximum payload weight: 350 kg (772 lb)
- Propellers: 12 tilt-propellers
- Electric motors: 12 electric motors
- Power source: Battery packs
- Fuselage: Carbon fiber composite
- Windows: Panoramic wrap around windows allowing forward, left, right and top visibility for good views for the pilot and passengers
- Wings: 1 high main wing
- Tail: 1 convention tail with an inverted vertical stabilizer
- Landing gear: Fixed tricycle wheeled landing gear
- Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) uses multiple propellers or electric ducted fans, each powered by electric motors, to increase safety through redundancy. If one or more components fail, the remaining ones can still ensure a safe landing. There are also redundancies of critical components in the sub-systems of the aircraft providing safety through redundancy. Having multiple redundant systems on any aircraft decreases having any single point of failure.
