The company's main focus is sustainability, efficiency and safety of their aircraft. The company is aiming to utilize renewable energy sources, produce minimal emissions from their aircraft, to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce operating costs. The company also aims to design and manufacture electric fixed-wing aircraft. Currently the company's research and development, assembly area and test facility is located at the Puducherry Airport in India.
VM8 subscale passenger eVTOL mock-up aircraft
The VM8 is a subscale two passenger eVTOL mock-up aircraft for trade show display purposes. The aircraft is not functional but shows the basic design of the passenger multicopter aircraft. The mock-up aircraft was shown at the inaugural Puducherry Startup Expo 2024 which took place February 3-4 in Puducherry, India.
The aircraft has eight double-stacked propellers on booms mounted on the four corners of the aircraft. There are no wings on the aircraft, there is a simulated canopy over the cockpit and has fixed skid landing gear. The material used for the mock-up is unknown. The production model is expected to have a carbon fiber composite fuselage for a high strength and low weight ratio.
This particular multicopter aircraft design reduces the complexity of the aircraft which increases safety exponentially, reduces manufacturing costs, reduces maintenance costs, reduces the cost of purchasing the aircraft and increases the service life of the aircraft. Reducing complexity of eVTOL aircraft also reduces weight which then in turn, increases the range of the aircraft.
Future developments
The company has ambitious plans for the future. The company is planning on designing and manufacturing two, three, five and nine seat eVTOL multicopter aircraft models. Some of the large models might be powered by a hybrid-electric power source. Each of their models will also be reconfigurable for air cargo service.
