Founded in 2025, Vight is located in Mountain View, California, USA and is in the business of designing and manufacturing passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for advanced air mobility (AAM). The company foresees their aircraft to be used by people living in rural areas and allowing them to travel further and faster, reducing the time needed when traveling long distances.

Financing
As of 2025, the company has stated they have raised over $1 million USD in capital from Yishan Wong (ex Reddit CEO and early at PayPal), Albert Wenger (Managing Partner, USV) and Gigi Danzinger, two Substack cofounders, a partner at a16z, Backwards Capital and Intuition VC.

The V1 is a sleek and modern looking two passenger eVTOL aircraft. The aircraft is being designed for long range rural travel and will have room for the passenger's luggage. The tandem wings will increase the range of the aircraft and the fixed skid landing gear keeps complexity and the weight of the aircraft to a minimum. The company foresees people in rural areas to build landing pads on their own private property for safe takeoffs and landings.

The estimated cruise speed if the aircraft is 100 mph (161 km/h) and has an expected maximum payload weight of ~450-500 lb (204-227 kg). The aircraft has eight propellers, eight electric motors and is powered by battery packs. The aircraft has tandem tilt-wings with the rear wing sporting winglets. The fuselage is made from carbon fiber composite to give the aircraft a high strength to low weight ratio. The aircraft has fixed skid landing gear.

As with all concept design aircraft, specifications can and will change as full-scale prototypes and production models are made, tested and flown. For example, the power source for the aircraft might change to be a hybrid-electric power source. Or the vertical takeoff and landing configuration of the aircraft might change.

  • Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) uses multiple propellers or electric ducted fans, each powered by electric motors, to increase safety through redundancy. If one or more components fail, the remaining ones can still ensure a safe landing. There are also redundancies of critical components in the sub-systems of the aircraft providing safety through redundancy. Having multiple redundant systems on any aircraft decreases having any single point of failure. There is also a whole aircraft emergency ballistic parachute in case of an unexpected inflight emergency.
