Please remember, it is known that information originating from China is sometimes sparse, incomplete or inaccurate. The information we provide here is either from company news reports or online articles. We do know that China is promoting what they call the "low-altitude economy" (in the US, it's known as advanced air mobility or AAM). China's low-altitude economy includes both crewed and uncrewed passenger and air cargo electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) and hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft.
Founded in 2020, Inflync is in the business of designing and manufacturing passenger hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for advanced air mobility (AAM). In August 2024, it was reported that INFLYNC completed its angel funding rounds, which raised for the company tens of millions of yuan. In January 2025 the company announced the completion of another angel funding round with tens of millions of yuan raised. The latest round was led by Boyan Venture Capital, with participation from Shanghai Angel Group. The new funds will be used to flight test a full-scale prototype. INFLYNC has secured over 500 pre-orders for the L600 Pioneer passenger eVTOL aircraft.
L600 Pioneer tilt-wing ducted fan passenger hybrid-electric VTOL concept design aircraft
The L600 Pioneer is a piloted tilt-wing ducted fan passenger hybrid-electric VTOL concept design aircraft. The company has stated the aircraft will have one pilot and carry a maximum of five passengers and their luggage. The aircraft has been made as a long-range, high-performance, ultra-safe and low-noise aircraft for urban air travel.
The expected maximum cruise speed is 360 km/h (224 mph), has a desired range of 600 km (373 m) and has an approximate maximum payload weight of 600-800 kg (1,323-1,764 lb). The aircraft has 20 ducted fans, 20 (or possibly 40) electric motors and has a hybrid-electric power source. The aircraft has tandem wings where the ducted fans are locate. The fuselage is made from carbon fiber composite to give the aircraft a high strength to low weight ratio. The tail has one vertical stabilizer and the aircraft has retractable tricycle wheeled landing gear.
Specifications:
- Aircraft type: Tilt-wing ducted fan passenger hybrid-electric VTOL concept design aircraft
- Piloting: 1 pilot
- Capacity: 5 passengers
- Maximum cruise speed: 360 km/h
- Range: 600 km
- Maximum payload weight: ~600-800 kg
- Propellers: 20 ducted fans
- Electric motors: 20 (or 40) electric motors
- Power source: Hybrid-electric VTOL power source
- Fuselage: Carbon fiber composite
- Windows: Panoramic wrap around windows allowing forward, left and right visibility for spectacular views with a solid roof above the passenger compartment
- Wings: Tandem wings
- Tail: 1 vertical stabilizer
- Landing gear: Retractable tricycle wheeled landing gear
- Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) uses multiple propellers or electric ducted fans, each powered by electric motors, to increase safety through redundancy. If one or more components fail, the remaining ones can still ensure a safe landing. There are also redundancies of critical components in the sub-systems of the aircraft providing safety through redundancy. Having multiple redundant systems on any aircraft decreases having any single point of failure.
