Founded in 2018 by Hari Vasudevan, CEO, the Prime Design Consultancy Services is in the business of designing, technology development and the manufacturing of futuristic electric vehicles, including hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft for Urban Air Mobility (UAM). The company also provides consulting services in electric vehicle design, development, prototyping, testing and government regulations approval. Vasudevan has 23 years of experience in product design, prototyping, testing manufacturing and managing electric vehicles working for other electric vehicle companies.

Prime Design Consultancy Services manufactures an all-electric scooter and a small autonomous four wheeled cargo delivery vehicle which holds a maximum payload of 100 kg (220 lb). On the drawing board are small electric road tricycles, electric go-cart type vehicles, a four wheeled van type ground vehicle, a one passenger hybrid-electric aircraft and a multi-passenger hybrid-electric aircraft. Many patents have been filed for various technologies developed by the company.

The Haricopter X1-B is a one passenger hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft for Urban Air Mobility which utilizes both comfort and functionality in the design. The aircraft has a completely transparent cockpit allowing spectacular views during flight and is so compact in its design that it can easily land and takeoff from a standard parking space and can be stored in a typical-sized garage. There is also a small amount of space behind the seat for a small piece of luggage or another type of cargo, such as groceries or gym bag.

The aircraft has the added advantage of being a long range aircraft due to its hybrid-electric power source and its simplicity of design keeps the purchase cost down, maintenance costs down and single points of failure to a minimum. During flight, the passenger can control what route the aircraft flies but the passenger must follow pre-approved flight routes assigned by the government. If any deviation occurs from an approved flight path, ground stations will reroute the aircraft to stay on an approved flight path.
