Founded in 2018 by Hari Vasudevan, CEO, the Prime Design Consultancy Services is in the business of designing, technology development and the manufacturing of futuristic electric vehicles, including hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft for Urban Air Mobility (UAM). The company also provides consulting services in electric vehicle design, development, prototyping, testing and government regulations approval. Vasudevan has 23 years of experience in product design, prototyping, testing manufacturing and managing electric vehicles working for other electric vehicle companies.
Prime Design Consultancy Services manufactures an all-electric scooter and a small autonomous four wheeled cargo delivery vehicle which holds a maximum payload of 100 kg (220 lb). On the drawing board are small electric road tricycles, electric go-cart type vehicles, a four wheeled van type ground vehicle, a one passenger hybrid-electric aircraft and a multi-passenger hybrid-electric aircraft. Many patents have been filed for various technologies developed by the company.
The Haricopter X1-Q is a car-carrying cargo hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft for Urban Air Mobility utilizing functionality in its design. The aircraft allows a small four passenger ground vehicle to drive into the rear of the aircraft and then fly above traffic to the destination. The aircraft has a completely transparent cockpit allowing spectacular views during the flight. While the company has not stated the width of the aircraft, it is possible this aircraft can land and takeoff from a standard parking space and could also possibly be parked inside a typical garage.
The aircraft has the added advantage of being a long range aircraft due to its hybrid-electric power source and its simplicity of design keeps the purchase cost, maintenance cost and single points of failure to a minimum. This aircraft would be an autonomous aircraft flying in approved flight paths and also being assisted with ground stations monitoring the entire flight.
While the company has not talked about the Haricopter X1-Q being a heavy-lift cargo drone, the cargo compartment would wide and large enough to haul multiple types of large cargo loads.
