Based in Orlando, Florida, USA, Lee Rosario, is a conceptual designer who has created multiple futuristic vehicles and products such as cars, SUVs, semi-trucks, helicopters, jets, other world rovers and hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft.
The Hyperlight Aeros is a hybrid-electric VTOL concept design autonomous amphibious aircraft, taking passengers under the water, surfacing and flying them in the air. The cabin is pressurized and water resistant. The aircraft can hold three passengers and their luggage. The aircraft has no windows but shows the outside to the passengers by using exterior camera system to project the exterior view on an interior plasma screen inside the canopy of the aircraft.
The aircraft is expected to have a maximum airspeed of 288 mph (463 km/h), a maximum altitude 20,000 ft (6,096 m) and maximum depth in water of 20 ft (6 m). The aircraft sports to turbine jets for forward flight with a front electric propeller for VTOL flight and flight stability. According to one article, the front electric propeller does all the work for VTOL flight.
The aircraft has been designed for the wealthy sports adventurer, tourism and search and rescue operations.
