Founded in 2010, V_Space Co., Ltd. (also known as Visionary Mobility) is a manufacturer of electric motorcycles, electric scooters and electric batteries. The company is also designing and is in the process of manufacturing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for advanced air mobility (AAM).
V Speeder-X one passenger eVTOL concept design multicopter
The V Speeder-X is one passenger eVTOL concept design multicopter personal air vehicle. The multicopter aircraft can also be outfitted for remote piloting and used for air cargo transportation. The aircraft has been designing to reduce its complexity, keep the price as low as possible for the consumer, have all high reliability components and be more safe than conventional aircraft. The avionics uses triple redundant flight computers to increase the safety of the aircraft. The sensors also include Lidar which provide obstacle avoidance and the aircraft has an automatic landing feature.
The multicopter has an estimated maximum cruise speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) and has an expected flight time of 20 minutes. The planned maximum payload weight of the aircraft is 230 kg (507 lb). The aircraft has eight propellers and the propellers are stacked, so there are four sets of stacked propellers. The aircraft has eight electric motors for the propellers and the power source is by Lithium-ion battery packs. The windows are large for excellent views for the pilot. The fuselage is made from carbon fiber composite for a high strength and low weight ratio. The aircraft has fixed skid landing gear.
The aircraft has Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP) which provides safety through redundancy for the passengers. The eight propellers and eight electric motors increase the safety because if one or two of the propellers or electric motors fail, the other propellers will allow the aircraft to continue to fly and land safely.
The company reported in December 2023 that the estimated cost of the aircraft will be ₩118,188,820.00 (KRW) or $90,000.00 USD.
Specifications:
- Aircraft type: One passenger or air cargo eVTOL concept design multicopter aircraft
- Piloting: 1 pilot
- Maximum cruise speed: 80 km/h (50 mph)
- Range: Unknown
- Flight time: 20 minutes
- Maximum payload weight: 230 kg (507 lb)
- Propellers: 8 propellers
- Electric motors: 8 electric motors
- Power source: Lithium-ion batteries
- Fuselage: Carbon fiber composite
- Windows: Panoramic wrap around windows allowing forward, left and right visibility for spectacular views with a solid roof above the passenger compartment
- Landing gear: Fixed skid landing gear
- Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP), provides safety through redundancy for its passengers and/or cargo. DEP means having multiple propellers (or ducted fans) and motors on the aircraft so if one or more propellers (ducted fans) or motors fail, the other working propellers (or ducted fans) and motors can safely land the aircraft. There are also redundancies in the sub-systems of the aircraft.
