USMC Part of Agility Prime
The US Marine Corps announced March 10 (during a VFS-organized media briefing) its intention to partner with the US Air Force on the latter’s Agility Prime project, contributing funding and potential use cases towards the goal of accelerating commercial certification and assessing potential government uses for non-traditional electric or hybrid-propulsion VTOL aircraft. Like the USAF, the Marine Corps said it hopes to nurture and adopt developments made in the commercial space rather than setting its own specific requirements. The Marine Corps might adopt eVTOL aircraft as part of its unmanned logistics systems — air (ULS-A) initiative, which aims to provide small, medium and large platforms for cargo transportation to reduce risk to crew and free up manned aircraft. The USAF plans to launch Agility Prime virtually during the week of April 27. (Source: US Marine Corps)
