Air Force to Evaluate Pivotal BlackFly

Pivotal announced on Feb. 22 that it delivered four BlackFly eVTOL aircraft and two flight simulators for evaluation by the US Air Force. Pivotal delivered the aircraft to Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI), a Virginia-based company that is working with the Air Force’s AFWERX technology incubator on its Agility Prime initiative. Pivotal will deliver a total of eight BlackFly aircraft to MTSI and AFWERX, which is seeking to evaluate the aircraft’s performance and its military potential for use as a remotely piloted aircraft. Pivotal will also provide the Air Force with pilot training and support services during the evaluation period, an eight-month program occurring at the New Braunfels National Airport, Texas, and the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, Ohio.
