By Kenneth I. Swartz

The Vertical Flight Society's 19th Annual Electric Aircraft Symposium (EAS 2025) was a great success, with 150 in-person and virtual attendees ahead of AirVenture Wisconsin, Oshkosh! Video recordings will be available soon.

EAS 2025 featured 40 speakers from across the advanced air mobility landscape from North America, Europe and Australia. Six eVTOL, 10 eCTOL and 14 propulsion and energy system companies spoke at this year’s which also included four sponsors and seven exhibitors. The event attracted a strong turnout of in-person and online attendees, which included representatives from many other AAM companies interested to hear about the latest industry developments.

EAS 2025 was held in at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on July 19-20, the weekend before EAA AirVenture, which features a record number of eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft on public display for the first time.

Several embargoed news announcements were shared at EAS 2025 before they will be officially announced at AirVenture. And this includes a new electric propulsion system specifically designed to replace or augment turboshaft engines in conventional helicopters.
