AIR Joins Agility Prime

On Dec. 20, AIR announced its participation in the US Air Force’s AFWERX Agility Prime program. AIR will provide the Air Force with data from its AIR ONE eVTOL aircraft, enabling the Air Force to evaluate its suitability for logistics missions. AIR, based in Pardes Hanna, Israel, said the Air Force is seeking to study an eVTOL aircraft capable of carrying 1–2 people at least 10 miles (16 km) and at speeds greater than 45 mph (72 km/h). “Agility Prime analytics predict lower operations and maintenance costs of eVTOL aircraft through mechanical simplicity,” said Lt. Col. John Tekell, the Branch Chief for Agility Prime, a program established by the Air Force’s AFWERX technology incubator (see “US Air Force Moves to Boost eVTOL Development,” Vertiflite, March/April 2020)
