Airbus Building eVTOL Test Site

Airbus Helicopters has begun constructing a test center for the CityAirbus NextGen eVTOL aircraft, the company announced in a July 27 press release. Located in Donauwörth, Germany, the Urban Air Mobility Test Center will host all the tests required prior to the CityAirbus NextGen’s maiden flight. According to Airbus: “The hangar integrates high-voltage equipment and lithium batteries and is designed to undergo testing with the highest safety precautions.” It is expected to occupy 1,000 m² (10,760 sq ft²) and be completed in the first quarter of 2023.
