Airbus CityAirbus Prepares for Flight

Bloomberg stated on Jan. 23 that Airbus’s quad-duct CityAirbus eVTOL demonstrator was “poised for takeoff within weeks.” Initial tests will be brief unmanned hovers, building up to translating flight and longer missions. The CityAirbus demonstrator is undergoing ground testing at the company’s helicopter plant in Donauwörth, Germany, north of Munich. Airbus said the four-seat air taxi could go into service as early as 2023.
