ASKA Unveils A5 at CES

Los Altos, California-based ASKA unveiled a prototype of its A5 eVTOL “flying car” at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which ran from Jan. 5–8 in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to ASKA, the four-seat A5 will be able to travel by road and up to 250 miles (402 km) by air. ASKA expects the A5 to be certified by 2026 and has begun accepting preorders for the aircraft. The company also announced that it will create an on-demand ride-share service with the A5 beginning in 2026.

At VFS’s 9th Annual Electric VTOL Symposium in January 2022, ASKA displayed a model of its “drive and fly” vehicle and a flight simulator that allowed attendees to experience both modes of travel (see “TVF2022: Vehicles and Volts,” Vertiflite, March/April 2022).
