Lilium Appoints Geoffrey Richardson as CFO
On Nov. 19, Munich-based Lilium announced that it has appointed Geoffrey Richardson — previously the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the autonomous car company Cruise — as its CFO. Based in San Francisco, Richardson has more than 20 years of proven expertise in international finance, mergers and acquisition, fundraising and operations. During his tenure at Cruise, he raised over $7B of capital in three separate transactions with leading strategic and financial investors. At Cruise, he was responsible for over 800 full-time employees and contractors in finance, business development, delivery, fleet operations and infrastructure.

Prior to this, Richardson was CFO at dynamic glass company, Kinestral, where he oversaw the company’s Series B and Series C funding rounds, scaling Kinestral from research and development to product sales, including building a manufacturing facility in Taiwan. An attorney by training, Richardson started his career at global law firm Shearman & Sterling, and then spent over a decade at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in various capital market and investment banking roles, focusing on sustainability and electrification.
