LuftCar and PowerTap Partner on H2 Infrastructure

LuftCar and PowerTap Hydrogen Fuel Corp. announced on May 17 that the two companies will develop refueling infrastructure for hydrogen-powered aircraft. PowerTap, a subsidiary of the Canada-based PowerTap Hydrogen Capital Corp., will provide hydrogen to the LuftPads, LuftCar’s planned network of hydrogen refueling stations for eVTOL aircraft, road vehicles and utility backup systems. The collaboration is focused on building such a network in Connecticut, though it could expand to other states in the US Northeast. Founded in 2021, LuftCar, a Delaware-based eVTOL developer, is designing its LuftCar eVTOL aircraft, as well as a hydrogen-electric propulsion system for the LuftCar and other eVTOL aircraft.
