MightyFly Secures Air Force Award

MightyFly announced on Nov. 2 that the US Air Force’s AFWERX innovation unit had awarded it a $1.25M contract for work on its Autonomous Load Mastering System (ALMS). The SBIR Phase II contract will help the San Francisco-based company further develop the ALMS, which expedites the loading, unloading and delivery of cargo from the MightyFly MF-100 Cento hybrid eVTOL delivery drone (see “MightyFly Unveils Cento eVTOL Delivery Drone,” Vertiflite, March/April 2023).

Also on Nov. 2, MightyFly revealed that Draper Associates, an early-stage venture capital firm, would invest an unspecified amount in the company. MightyFly is working on the third generation of the MF-100, which it plans to unveil in early 2024.
