Moya Develops Drone Management and Nears 200 Flights
On March 12, Brazil-based Moya Aero announced an update on its $2M grant awarded by Brazilian government scientific organization FINEP to develop a portable ground control system for high-capacity drones as part of a program to subsidize urban air mobility. Moya’s scalable drone management plan would use artificial intelligence for beyond-visual-line-ofsight (BVLOS) operations, which it states could “revolutionize cargo transportation” by enabling safe and efficient drone delivery. Moya will collaborate on this project with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the University of Pernambuco. Moya, which was founded in 2020 as a spinoff of ACS Aviation, also announced in March that it has completed nearly 200 flights with its remote-controlled, subscale, heavy-lift eVTOL prototype cargo drone.
