Moya Prepares for Test Flights

Moya Aero intends to begin testing a prototype of its eVTOL aircraft in late September, the company revealed in early June. The Brazil-based eVTOL developer is finalizing work on a 18-ft (5.5-m) wingspan technology demonstrator that is a 70% scale of its autonomous heavy-lift cargo drone. The fullscale aircraft is expected to have a payload capacity of 200 kg (441 lb) and range of 110 km (68 mi), according to the VFS World eVTOL Aircraft Directory. The news comes after Moya Aero secured an intent to purchase 50 Moya eVTOL aircraft from Helisul, a Brazilian aviation firm specializing in aircraft charters, maintenance and other services. Helisul, which has a fleet of more than 50 helicopters, and Moya Aero signed a letter of intent on April 25; the two companies are also cooperating on the development of the aircraft.
