Ryse Aero Flies at CES
On Jan. 5, Ryse Aero Technologies conducted a series of flight demonstrations of its Recon eVTOL aircraft at CES. Ryse Aero, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based eVTOL developer, became the first eVTOL company to conduct an outdoor flight at CES. The single-seat Recon, which can fly under the FAA’s Part 103 Ultralight Vehicle rule, features six independent electric motors and can fly up to 25 miles (40 km). The aircraft weighs 286 lb (130 kg) and features six independent outrigger floats and two fuselage floats.
In a Jan. 31 interview with Aviation Today, Ryse CEO Mick Kowitz said that the company has begun allowing customers to make reservations for the Recon and that it has already received “close to $10M worth of reservations already” from 75 to 100 customers.
