Sarla Unveils Aircraft, Secures Partnerships

India-based Sarla Aviation stated on Jan. 14 that it had received $10M in a Series A1 equity funding round led by Accel that included several individual angel investors. The startup, named after India’s first woman aviator, Sarla Thukral, plans to use the funds to expand staff and to a facility in Bengaluru. On Jan. 17, during the 2025 India Urban Air Mobility Expo, the developer unveiled a static display of its Shunya eVTOL prototype, which it aims to start testing later this year. In October, Sarla announced partnership with Hunch Mobility, which is Blade’s service partner in India.
