Skyports Secures $23M Investment

Skyports, the UK-based vertiport developer, announced on March 23 that it has raised $23M in a Series B funding round. Japan’s Kanematsu Corporation will join the Skyports board, as will Ken Allen, CEO of DHL eCommerce, who joins the board as an independent non-executive director. The funding will allow the company to accelerate its work with eVTOL developers and scale its Drone Services operations, a drone delivery service for ship-to-shore and offshore customers.  

The news comes as Skyports is moving to expand its network of vertiports. In January, Skyports acquired Falcon Heliport, one of two public heliports in London. The heliport will continue its current operations under the new name of Skyports London Heliport until mid-decade, when the company expects to welcome AAM traffic.
