TCab Raises $20M Towards Series A

Shanghai-based TCab Tech announced on March 25 that it had raised an additional $20M in its Series A financing. The investment came from a strategic investment fund that plans to introduce the air-taxi application in the Middle East. TCab’s E20 tilt-propeller eVTOL aircraft has five seats (a pilot plus four passengers) and six propellers—two lift-only propellers and four that tilt for lift and cruise—powered by Safran ENGINeUS electric motors. The E20 targets a cruising speed of 140 kt (260km/h) and a maximum design range of 108nm (200km), though it is most efficient for commuting 15–80 nm (30–150 km). TCab completed initial testing of its full-scale aircraft in October, after conducting hover and transition flights at Dongyang Hengdian General Airport in Zhejiang Province (see “Electric VTOL News,” Vertiflite, Jan/Feb 2024).
