XPeng Unveils Modular Flying Car at CES
XPeng AeroHT unveiled its Land Aircraft Carrier at this year’s CES (formerly the Consumer Electronics Show), which ran Jan. 7–10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also known as the Modular Flying Car, the combined ground and air vehicle remains in development, but XPeng said it is expected to enter scaled production in 2025, according to AeroHT, the Guangzhou-based subsidiary of Chinese automaker XPeng Motors. The system (shown) will be comprised of a “ground module” and an “air module,” with the latter being a foldable quadcopter eVTOL aircraft with a two-person cockpit and manual and autonomous flight modes. XPeng AeroHT expects to begin accepting preorders of the Land Aircraft Carrier in the fourth quarter of this year.
Also at CES 2024, XPeng AeroHT exhibited a full-scale mockup of its Flying Car, a two-passenger eVTOL with driving and flying modes. According to the World eVTOL Aircraft Directory, XPeng AeroHT unveiled the latest version of the Flying Car during 1024 Tech Day on Oct. 24, 2023.
