Zuri Reveals New Hybrid-Electric VTOL
In a YouTube video on Jan. 20, Zuri unveiled a new version of its hybrid eVTOL aircraft. Known internally as the Zuri 2.0, the updated aircraft features a vectored thrust design with eight tiltrotor propellers, marking a complete overhaul of the propulsion system from the original lift-plus-cruise design. According to the Prague-based company, the Zuri 2.0 will employ a hybrid powertrain, enabling a cruise speed of 161 kt (300 km/h) and range of 435 miles (700 km). The Zuri 2.0 will be available in both passenger and cargo variants. The announcement comes just months after Zuri began hover tests of a near-scale demonstrator air vehicle in the original design, which was unveiled on Sept. 20, 2021, according to the VFS World eVTOL Aircraft Directory.
