Jaunt Adds Additional Partners
Jaunt Air Mobility has selected additional partners for its Reduced Rotor Operating Speed Aircraft (ROSA™) electric rotorcraft. BAE Systems is collaborating with the company to explore the development of electric energy management systems for UAM vehicles through a memorandum of understanding (MOU). According to the joint press release on Dec. 5, “BAE Systems has 20-plus years of experience developing and integrating electric propulsion systems. The company has more than 10,000 electric-hybrid systems on transit buses and marine vessels around the globe [and] more than 40 years of experience in controls and avionics for military and commercial aircraft.” Although Triumph has been a partner for Jaunt since inception, the company has now formalized the MOU for the company to provide engineering and manufacturing services: “Triumph’s Aerospace Structures unit will “support Jaunt’s efforts to design, develop, certify and build a full-scale demonstration aircraft,” the companies announced on Nov. 6.
