Transcend Partners with IAI

Transcend Air Corporation announced on May 8 that it partnered with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) North America to explore the defense applications of the Vy family of high-speed VTOL (HSVTOL) aircraft. Under the terms of the agreement, IAI will provide engineering expertise and other developmental and marketing support to Transcend, as well as act as the sole militarization partner for the company.

Transcend’s Vy 400, a six-seat VTOL aircraft that is expected to reach speeds greater than 400 mph (640 km/h), was evaluated as part of the US Air Force’s HSVTOL competition. The Boston-based company had previously partnered with Kaman Aerospace and GE Aviation on aspects of the development of the Vy 400.
